What to Expect During Your Treatment
Before Your Session
We’ll start with a consultation to talk through your skin goals and make sure microneedling is the right fit for you. On the day of your appointment, a topical numbing cream is applied to your skin and left on for about 30 to 45 minutes before we begin — so you’ll be comfortable throughout.
During Your Treatment
Your provider will glide the SkinPen device across the treatment area using small, controlled passes. You may feel a mild vibrating or scratching sensation — most clients find it very tolerable once the numbing takes effect. A full facial treatment usually takes about 30 to 45 minutes.
After Your Treatment
Your skin will be pink and feel warm right after — similar to a moderate sunburn. This usually calms down within 24 hours, and most clients are comfortable heading back to their normal routine the next day. You’ll want to avoid makeup for at least 24 hours, protect your skin from sun exposure, and skip active ingredients like retinol or acids for a few days.
Collagen production builds gradually, so your best results appear over four to eight weeks. A series of three to six sessions spaced four weeks apart is recommended for significant concerns like acne scarring.
